Tachometer not reading correctly

Anyone out there with an 92-96 ever experience their tach reading incorrectly. If so, what was the problem and how did you get it resolved. Its kind of annoying seeing my tach reading lazy while I'm reving the engine..

could be a problem with the tach filter, cut the wire and see if it makes a difference
