I was just wondering if anybody on this forum has any clue to a remedy to fix the most problematic item of a 1990 corvette.....the tachometer...lol
I have seen over 20 vettes personally with bumm factory tachometers that no longer work correctly....
Like mine the problem is this: tachometer at idle is off 500-800 rpms and progressive get worst to where it can be off as much as 2000 at WOT (wide open throttle).
Attempts to fix problem have included:
Replace dash cluster
Repair or remove tachometer filter (as this filter has been discontinued by GM)
Replaced filter with a good used one out of junkyard
none of these work.....
owner usually up to this point lives with it (like me) or modifies there vette by adding an aftermarket tachometer....
so if anybody might be able to offer a suggestion....iam all ears....been a member and on the corvetteforum for over 2 years now.....still nobody with a clue.
thanks
jeff
