Targa Top self-"chroming", dangit!

On my targa top, there are two "tab" shaped extensions that press down on the weatherstripping around the windshield. You all know what I'm talking about, they are right by both windows. On my car, the black "paint" that was on there stock is peeling off revealing shiny stainless steel! What can I use to touch this up? It's a little cosmetic issue I know, but it drives me NUTS!

You can get the satin black trim paint at some of the auto parts stores or order it from Mid-America.

It's very thickly coated. I need to investigate the cure also. I guess you could take it all of and put 3 or 4 coats of good paint. It falls off because those ears flex a little if you barely bump them.
