I was mesmerized watching him make that machine do its thing. The comuterized wheel balancer was just as fascinating. The last time I balanced a tire (33 years ago) it was mostly art.Yeah, the cost of those machines and the Hunter Road Force machines is staggering! The goal is to find a "tech" who knows how to use the equipment and what the computerized Road Force setup is telling him.
The service manager was soooooo apologetic that *I* had to find that one of my wheels had a CHUNK of magnesium missing. The jungle-bunny who wrecked the wheel didn't have the decency to tell the SM. That was the biggest pi$$-off. As I trust no-one with my car I'd snapped digi-pics of all four wheels just before I dropped the car off. My wife witnessed the pics too. The SM gave me zero hassle on this. But next time I won't leave my car alone with anyone.Glad GM stepped up and did the right thing with your wheel.
I was promised that only the Corvette mechanic touches Corvettes. But what they didn't tell me was that for tire and oil change work they use non-skilled (read: probably minimum wage) shop rats. I'll be more careful next time. Live and learn eh?I have a set of BBS LM's on mine and Eric is the only guy to date that touches them. A great find as a tech, he treats ALL his customers cars with respect and takes great pride in his word of mouth reputation. He also cons my wife into making him cookies a couple times a year
Yeah my wife used to bake chokky chip cookies for our ex landscaping guy (I do the L-S myself now {I watched him well} and now *I* get the cookies).
