Spend five bucks for the wiper arm remove/install tool and you can take them off and install them in seconds, without any scratches or gouges. :)

Yup, I can do that - put a piece of tape on it so it doesn't scratch the top of the wiper arm hub; apply as shown and just squeeze your hand together, and it'll come right off.

thanks for the tool info and how to use it John.
I went and returned that NAPA fan clutch today and had them order me that tool for the wiper arms since they didn't have it in stock.
With the tool and your instructions it should be a breeze for anyone and only take ME 17 posts on here and 3 days to get it right ;LOL

Heh Thanks John... Kinda the way I thought it should go but wanted to make sure.....A Pic Is worth a Thousand words....

Isn't the wiper arm release tab on the inboard side near the hindge point of the arm ...???

Yes, it is, but it doesn't matter - the retention spring is very light, and is only there to keep them from falling off; the function of the tool is to take the (main) spring load off the splines when you squeeze the arm up against the tool so there's zero lateral force, and the hub will then come straight off the splines with little to no effort.
