my cars temp display went from showing the number to just saying "low" all the time. is this the temp sending unit? where would this sending unit be located on a 88" with a L98 engine? [thanks for any info]

It is right behind the oil dipstick tube. It has either a dark green or blue wire. Disconnect the wire and ground it. Turn the ignition on but do not start the car. Observe the display. If it reads 330F replace the coolant temp sensor. If it still reads LO, check the sensor wire for an open circuit via the bulkhead connector to the display. If the circuit is okay the cluster is the problem. Me, I'm bettin' a bad sensor or the wire is off.

Cheers! :beer
