1992 with digital climate control, no codes. If i set the temp to 80 that is the temp of the air coming out of the vents. needles to say it feels very cold unless you have it set to 90'F. Whats wrong with it???

Maybe the air blend door is not moving correctly to add heat unless it goes full open ( max temp )

Blend door is working. No matter what temp i sellect i get that temp out of the vents. The only one off is 90' i get more like 109'F. Any ideas???

The automatic climate system tries to match the temperature you select. It has a cabin air temperature sensor. If you put it to ninety it will try to get it to ninety degrees in the car. When at the extremes of either 60 or 90 automatic control is disabled and it will do max heat or max cool at those settings. Anywhere in between the climate control will try to get the car to that selected temperature. If you are getting 109 degree air out of the vents that is ok, but could be better. I'm not sure based upon your posts if you have an issue but hope this helps. You should notice a difference as you move the temp. settings higher, get a small thermometer to stick in the vents to be sure.

I have been driving around with a temp probe stuck in the vents. With the temp set to 70'F with HVAC set to auto it will blow 70'F air out of the vents. Cabin of the car will be 56-60'F It is cold and dosent warm up. Lets just say the climate control makes no attemps to make the cabin the temp you set it to.

The in cabin temp sensor for the climate control may be bad or unhooked.

Easiest thing for you to do is get the GM service manual and follow it to diagnose your issue. What kind of temps do you get out of the vents when you max it out at 90, with the engine warmed up?

About 109. Factory Service manuals only helps if you have codes. It is one of the worst manuals i have ever used, very vague. Where is the inside temp sensor???

My 1993 Service Manual says it is behind the glove box. Removal is necessary to get to it according to FSM.

I have a 1990 and according to the owners manual the temp. range for the climate control is between 65 F and 85 F. When you select 60 F then you get max cold and when you select 90 F you get max hot. The 60 and 90 settings are meant to cool or heat untill you turn it off or change the setting.

Hope this helps.
