Texas Here I Come!

...that could get kind of HOT! :beer

Later - D

Thats some old wives tale....my truck doesn't get any hotter than someone else's car......just gotta crack that sunroof and let some of that 105 degree air circulate!!

We're cooking fajita's on the hood tomorrow for lunch!

So what did you do wrong in Pennsylvania that made you go to Texas???????:D

It could have been a lot worse, he originally thought he was gonna have to go to California.;LOL :rotfl

TEXAS - 268,601 sq. miles
CALIFORNIA - 163,707 sq. miles

Easy choice if you ask me.....Texas is bigger and has less nuts.....:L:L

I just completed a head count of everyone in California, including the prisons, insane asylums, and public schools. Unfortunately, Calif. is full to capacity and cannot accept any good people from anywhere, esp, Penn., Colorado, and Texas. There are some openings for derelicts, crooked politicians, and insane judges, and , of course any mad bomber thats thrown out of any county in the world is welcome.

Steve,
Where did you end up at?
On my wife's 2004 I just stuck the front tag behind the CORVETTE cover on the front. If you get any grief just pop the 2 screws out and she's uncovered.

You got here at the right time. We have had one heck of a heat wave. Today makes 3 days this month UNDER 100....almost had to break out a sweatshirt tonite.

Welcome, keep in touch.

Cee

Cee,

I ended up in Coppell just 3.5 miles from work! I've never been that close to work before. I just moved from PA and it used to take me 2 hours to get to NYC. Then, of course, 2 hours back.

Yesterday and today have been really nice, I took the Vette out and went to a car wash (brushless). I don't want to wash it at home yet because of the drought. Didn't find a heck of a lot of places to cruise but that'll come with time.

Maybe I'll try putting the tag behind the CORVETTE cover. I've seen a few Corvettes but no front tags yet. Guess the LEO's don't crack down on that kind of thing too much.

Hey you are kinda close...my wife used to teach at Valley Ranch Elementary in Coppell.
The weather this week has been awesome compared to the last month and a half. Know what ya mean about water restrictions, fortunately we don't have any here (yet).
I have seen very few with the front plate. I have it on mine (68) but my wifes 04 (gone) and now the 06 has never had a frt plate on it, nor has she ever been questioned on it.
I can tell ya that some local state reps have brought the question up but it never seems to make it onto a bill. I'm hoping the next Legislative session brings a much needed death to that requirement.
When you get settled we'll organize a little trip to Twin Peaks on I-35E or maybe catch a car show around town.

Take care!

Sounds good. When I get a chance 'll look into the local Corvette clubs. I actually saw some Corvette stores along I-35 in Dallas on the way to the Viking game on thursday night.

I just saw a small car show at the Lewisville western festival today. They had about 6 Vettes.

BTW, Where and what is Twin Peaks?

It's at 35E and 121....
Kind of like a country Hooters....they wear blue jean shorts and plaid tops, kind of like Daisy Duke.....

Kinda what I thought it was. It's not too far from Coppell.

Checked out your website. Good luck with the garage. looks great! (of course the Vettes look good too).

I'm off for a quick ride around town to explore and find a gas station. Also, there seems to be quite a few Corvettes in the area (I also saw another black one). So far no waves. Do the Texans know about the Corvette wave? I'm beginning to feel a little foolish.

Sweet website Cee. Your care package from Carlisle will go in the mail this week.

Mike

Thanks Mikey....I'm about to run out of spots for those posters but will manage to place the latest one for sure.

Steve, seems that some know about the wave but I will admit that I do get more waves from other Silverado SS drivers when I'm in it than I get with the Vette.

Steve,

I wanted to thank you for the compliment on my Vette but I didn't want to hijack the new member's thread so I thought I'd post it here. Okay... okay... and hijack yours... Hope you don't mind. :) I couldn't help myself but I just had to post another photo MsSchroder took of her during CruiseFest and show her off a little more. :D

So how do you like Texas?

My sister lived in Gainesville (north of Dallas) for about 14 years before her husband's company required a move to southern Louisiana. And my friend that went to CF06 with me (and is going next year to Colorado) has a sister living in Dallas. In fact we'll likely make a stopover in Dallas next year on the way to CF07. Maybe we can hook up for lunch one day with some of you CAC members there.

BTW - love those Black Vettes too. I always wanted a black car... until I owned one for awhile and had to keep it clean. :ugh :L

Jane Ann,

No problem, I don't mind you stepping on my thread. MsSchroder certainly has a keen eye and a steady hand for Vette photography.

So far I really love it here. It's taking a little getting used. It's really different but it's great for year round cruising. I haven't been on any CruiseFests but would like to check it out. The only Corvette function I've been too was Corvettes at Carlisle. That was some show.

I don't know any local CAC members yet but I'll ask 68Roadster if there are any plans for CF07. If you remember, contact me when you're passing through and I'll see if we can't get a few CAc members to show up and go for a ride.

Good luck and be careful this time of year at the coast.
