That Annoying BELL!

i have a 93 coupe and was wondering if it was an easy job to shut up this bell. it dings constantantly when you open door. i cannot work on anything in interior w/o disconnecting battery. HELP i,m going dingy.:W

Don't get mad- get even.

You can remove the buzzer. It isn't hard to find it- just get a wiring diagram. Then, just remove it.

Are you leaving the keys in the ignition?? My 92 never made a nosie with either door open until I put the key all the way into the ignition.

on this 93 as soon as you open door its starts and never shuts up until you start car.

On my 93 it does not chime until the key is put in. You may have a bad door switch.erd:

i think you may be on to something. my PKE system does not work properly . the only door that will lock w/ fob is passenger. i,ve reprogrammed. the sytem a couple of times but the problem is in drivers door or box under dash. the manual has you go thru a series of items w/ yes/no answers. if you answer yes/no it will direct you to next step and the next step for me would be to access the box under dash. i do not think i can test the box and frankly i ,m worried about doing more damage to system. my local chevy dealer is in replacement mode. i brought it in and young mechanic admitted he didn,t know about this system and just recomended changing out box and this just sent up a red flag. my next step would be to drice to Springfield , Missouri to Reliable chevy. someone said they had a Good mechanic who could find problem. i don,t know the dealers are so expensive and i feel sometimes your rolling the dice. i would not mind if i knew it could be fixed.

Go up to the "Private Messages" (or try clicking that link).
On the page that pops up... left-hand column, second section down, click on the link for "Send New Messages" (or try clicking that link).

In the "recipient" section, start typing in C4C5Specialist and it should open a box that will show you his name. Click on it.
You can probably figure out the rest.

Is he part of the CAC? ....well, I certainly still hope so!

Sounds like you have some wires crossing somewhere.
So look, my tone generator is out of whack. Occasionally, I'll get this very weak drone from the thing when its truly hot outside. Usually I get no warning whatsoever, so I often forget and leave my park/fog lights on and walk away from the car.
If the tone generator is your problem and you just wanna get rid of it, I'll take it off your hands. Lemme know.

thanks for reply , but i want to try and get sytem working properly. there is more value in car if everything works correctly.
