well, since I got the car back from the paint shop a couple of weeks ago I never really took the time to get any new pictures of her - been busy trying to fight with the screw-ups the mechanic I took her to did, learning to do timing myself, fighting what turned out to be a non-existent overheating problem, and between all that just trying to get some driving time in.

The other day before we dropped her back off at the paint shop for some re-wetsanding and complete buffing out again, Linda and I took the opportunity to take a nice drive in her for an hour or so and we found a few nice places to take pictures of her so thought I'd share them.
After hearing all about the work done I figured you guys deserved to see her finished with a few half decent pics.
After the work this week she should look even better I hope :)

this one is my favorite shot of her so far:

She isn't in the same league as Collin's, or Bobs, or Larry's, or so many of the other incredible cars on here but I'm doing what I can, one thing at a time, to try to bring her up to a decent condition.

thanks Wes :)

Yep, I love the Milano Maroon also. I had never seen it before until I first saw this car for sale last year. This and Glenwood Green become my first two top choices for colors when I was searching.

Barry, she looks fantastic. Don't underestimate what league she is in. From the abundance of photos one can tell that the body and paint are top notch.

Barry - don't sell yourself short on your 67. After you showed me all the photos on your laptop at VNV's body drop, I decided to do more buffing on the new paint job on my 66. It has put me behind schedule but so what. It has taken me 21 years at this point. Your car looks great - enjoy Carlise. Ask VNV have a beer for me.

Steve

Studiog, Thanks for the kind words. Baby is no slouch but I'm not OVERESTIMATING what league she is in either - I'm very realisticabout her condition. body-off notwithstanding, she still has a lot of things I feel need to eventually get redone on her yet.

Paul, stop by. Linda and I will have a nice tent up by the car with a cooloer or two and extra chairs for visitor :) (this invite is for everyone :) )

Bob, very good point!. I meant to say 67Heaven........... besides, the way I've lived my life so far, I douby heaven is where I'm going to end up anyway. I think my destination is a bit more South. :ugh

Steve, Baby is a '65. She needed some more buffing also which is why she is back in the shop until tues. Getting a few areas wetsanding again and the whole car buffed out again. He missed a few areas before because he was afraid of burning thru them on the edges with the fresh paint but now that it's cured for a few weeks is why he's redoing it again. When I picked her up we had already arranged this.
You're not coming to Carlisle?

No - can't make it this year. Unfortunately, my business has taken too much time from completing the 66. I knew you had a 65 - somehow said 67, me being a CPA you would think I could get the numbers straight. Have a great time!

Steve
forgive me for forgetting but........... was your '66 one of the cars at Rob's place when we were all there for Marks body drop? There were the 2 C2's in the side (front) bay...... was the one completely stripped down yours?

Hey Barry,

Nice shots! I know where the covered bridge is but where did you find that spectacular stone garage? :BOW The doors on it are super! I'd like to photograph my cars there someday.

Super shots Barry, excellent background too. BABY really looks fantastic! Now as hard as it was the last "few" months, wasn't this worth waiting for? She shows really well so whatever you do don't hid her away in the garage, show her as much as possible:upthumbs . See you next week. Enjoy BABY and you and Linda have a safe trip.

As you already know, the covered bridge is down on Barley Mill Rd. The garage is less than a 1/4 mile or so down the road from the bridge and we found it purely by accident. We left the bridge and I saw there was a nature center so I pulled in figuring maybe there was something there to shoot the car with and this garage building was right in the back of the parking area. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to take pics with the car in front of ir, no question about it!
The really cool part was after I parked the car there there was a bus full of young school knids, about 13-14yo and they came off the bus to check out the car with mouths wide open and drool dripping...... :D

I want to go back and do some more pics there one day again also so if you can't find the place let me know and we can both cruise back out there and get good shots.

Hey there Doug
Thanks for the nice words, but I've learned to expect nothing less from you anyway :)
Me hide Baby? NEVER!
I take her out as much as I can when the weather cooperates.

See you next week! Find Baby and stop by and see Linda and I. :beer
