12 Gs for a 95 with 77k on it is no give away, unfortuneatly the prices for late model C4s has sunk to some new lows.

warren....i haven't seen any prices comparable to that for same year, like mileage here in Texas.... Where are you finding them?

Check autotrader.com, and remeber that the asking price is just that.
Also. as far as a trade in (I know the dealers rip you) if you go by the Galves book, a 95 for 12K is about all you would get for a low miles one.
I was thinking of stepping up to a C5, untill i found out how little my 95 with 20k is worth.

As of today at Manheim's Auction in Pa. the 96 coupes with 50k are going off between 14.5 and 15 thou.
Remember that is a wholesale auction. The price's are starting to go up because spring will be upon us in no time.
So if you pay a penny more then this, it's pure profit for the dealer, but it would be a good price for a private sale.
Also keep in mind if you see a vette with more then 55,000miles, no matter what year 90-96, pass. The dealers will only pay in the 11-13 thou range and the vettes with over 70k, might as well be happy with 10k, because it's all it's worth in the market place.
On e-bay, you will see alot of C4's with high mileage (100+) pass, because it is cheaper to pay 15 thou for a minto one in the long run.
You cannot buy a vette only from the heart, unless it's an oldie, because after 2 yrs your vette will have 20k more miles and be worth zip.

Warren....went to autotrader, only 95's there for 12k and under were well over 100K mileage wise...or, for the one that was lower, it was wrecked... Still say 12K for one with 70k miles is a good deal....below address shows my search results...regards..

I did a search on my zip code and found some "asking" around 15.
I feel if a private owner is asking 15 the car can be had for less.
If you go to edmunds or Kelly, 12 is about right. Not that it makes me happy.

Forget all of the books you pick up because it's all supply and demand and depending in what part of the country you live in.
At the auctions, the dealers use sheets of the previous weeks auction results to give them a guide. This is what they go by.
They could care less what a car went for half way across the country, or any where else beyond 200 miles.
The most profitable part of Auto sales is used cars.
Remember, if you were in the middle of a desert without any water and an arab offerred you a liter of water for $500, believe me you would buy it.
lf you have a real clean vette with average miles of 5-8 thou miles a year you will get a fair price. Keeping in mind that everything works and is in good order.

Except for a GS or LT4, If your late model C4 is in the best possible condition, and only has 8k miles per year, the dealer will give you 12 to 13 grand.
The same car sold privately may get 15. The value of low mileage is greatly dimished in cars over 5 years old. My car has 20K on it and its worth about a grand more than a same year C4 with 70K.

Not all is giving away!
Maybe some are giving them away but the price is still up there for retail. Here's a place in Maryland that sells only vettes.vette1.com and they are definitly not giving them away. There are always some good deals out there, I bought my 94 last month with 67000 for $8300 from a guy at work that needed cash and all it needed was a set of tires which I bought on ebay for $250 new. Local in MD so no shipping. :J Edmunds or Kelly can figure what they're worth but how many can you find at that price?

I like that asking price of 36,995 for a 2000 coupe with 11, 000 miles on it. I guess they figure no one will realize they can buy a brand new 2003 for a few grand more.

Your right warren, I would never buy for what he's asking. He does sell them though. I've never stopped in there but ride by to see what he's got. I geuss prices vary from state to state and I know that in the winter here up north the prices drop but they will rise in the spring. GET'EM WHILE THEY'RE COLD!!!!

Look up Kerbeck Corvettes, they are discounting all of the 03's even the Anniv models.
And they aren't cheap to start with.
Most knowledgeable vette people know the C6 is coming out and they would rather wait.

Bad enough how people treat regular lease cars let alone a Vette !
The price seemed really good (at least in the Boston area) until this new info came out on it.
I have been reading the local Want ads and people still think since it is a "Vette" it is worth a fortune regaurdless of the condition.
You just need to stumble across the right one when it happens.
Took me almost 3 years to find mine.
I got it in Sept 02 when I had given up hope again.
You never know

They made 358,180 C4s, so there is a great chance of finding exactly what ypou are looking for.
