1994 red convertible
Hey guys, I was wanting a second opinion, I was thinking of saling the 94 convertible and getting something different just for a change, Ive had three vettes, all C4's, all red. This spring I put a new water pump and an upgraded optispark ( the dynatech-dynaspark with the vacuum hoses) It has the hard top as well and has 31k miles on it. I was thinking of asking $17,000.00 for it. BUt I suppose the question is have any of you gotten rid of one of your vettes for something different and immediately had second thoughts or were sick after a few months without it in the garage? I was thinking of getting a Jeep Rubicon or a long wheelbase unlimited. The thought is getting rid of the truck as well, which isnt anything special, and downsizing to just one vehicle, with one insurance payment and only plating one vehicle and with the jeep I could still have some top down fun but I still have this sick feeling Im gonna miss the car as soon as it leaves. So anyone else have this experience or any thoughts?

No doubt....you're gonna miss the vette! The once "had been spot" for the vette will haunt you. :puke Or make you sicky. Everyone has to do what they have to do. I want a C5 (alongside the C4). Emotionally attached......my opinion only!

If you sell the car without the hardtop let me know as I have a 91 Red Vert and could use the top if it is in good condition. The new owner will probably want it but I had to take a shot.

I sold a car, not a vette that I really liked, for similar reasons. I regreted it the next time I walked into the garage. Store it first see if you can handle not having it to drive. Then MAYBE sell it. I would say , if you can afford to, keep it.
:w

Thanks guys, Im already having second thoughts on it, if I can make it past October when insurance on both are due, I think Ill keep it.

Think it over for a minimum of a few weeks. Selling it takes seconds and you may refret it. You do not sound too convinced of selling it. You may discover in a few days that selling it was not really in your best interests. It sounds to me like you have a strong bond for your C4.

I am out of a job for the first time in 30 years and money is tight. But I will not be selling my C4 because after selling my previous 2 Corvettes over the years, I do not want to that empty feeling again. My C4 is a keeper. It is going to be handed over to my son when he reaches 25 and hopefully he will then pass it on to his son someday. Plus with the C4 market so flat, I figure to hell with selling it so cheap.

Best of luck.

I put my '73 vert up for sale in late November. Thought no way anyone would buy a vert vette with Winter coming just around the corner - man was I wrong! The first guy that came to look at her handed me a fist full of $100 bills. And I watched him drive her off out of sight :cry . I was a dumb a$$ for doing that - been sorry many, many times!

you mean " Thinking of selling my vette"

call your insurance company and ask them what the new jeep you want is going to cost over what your paying right now? try another insurance company, theres alot of them out there! i mean your not driving it alot if its only got 31K, they should be able to lower it since your not driving it much?

Thanks, I may call the insurance company and see what the rate difference is with only driving it once in awhile. That might change my mind, although, I havent decided completely to sell it. Its probably going to stay with me for a while longer.

Did the same with a Black 95 VR4 mitsu, some kid with a fist full of bills walked in and baught my baby, that was 2 year ago and I still miss this car a lot. In the hope of filling the void I purchased a 95 blue C4, one owner and in fantastic shape, how I would have a hard time parting from baby blue. Some cars grow on you and somehow infuse their way into daily life, dumping one can leave years of regret. I have a 03 A6 audi v8 and cannot stand the car. As soon as the chance comes its out the window. Strange how some cars work and some do not. The best handling car I ever had was a WRX wagon, sold that and have no idea why. stupid. Now I want a C6 but cash is limited. So life goes on. Mike.
