In the program it is said that the radio can not be heard over the "excessive" noise from the tires. What rubbish that is!!!! These Brits probably could not find the radio volume control or knew how to kick-off the mute button. What total nonsense about driving over a pebble on the road, and acting like they just had a serious spinal injury. I can hear my radio well at any speed. I never have had an unpleasant experience from the suspension, after running over a pebble. I do not understand their criticism of the gear box, as I have never struggled with it. Very smooth, short shifts.

They would not like my review of a Lotus. I never have driven or ridden in one but, they look just a little above a go-cart. Look like they would ride rough. They have no interior appointments. A taxi has a more luxorious interior. Just looking through the window, as a autoshow was enough for me. Interior for too spartan to interest me enough to do a test drive. I have read that the A/C of the Lotus does not make the grade in the summer. These Limies are worthless buggers. The only UK car reviewer that I can watch is Alain de Cadenet. The Aston Martin DB9 is the only British car that captures my attention.

how bout this for a quick fact the guy that did the test on teh stock c6 richard hammond tried to break teh land speed record for teh UK in this rocket powered dragster. well lets just just say that didnt happen. he actually destroyed teh car and ended up in teh hospital with brain damage. its all over you tube check it out

Jeremy Clarkson and his team with their Top Gear "reviews" need to be taken for what you pay to watch them: not much...other than some entertainment value if one subscribes to Brit humor. BTW, Clarkson owns one of the handful of Ford GTs that were imported into the UK. Superb performance car, but in many ways, from what I've read, simply not as refined as a Corvette and given the time and resources Ford had to develop the car, that wouldn't be surprising.

While my C5 isn't quite up to the improved C6, I'll take it over any of the other 3 cars they ran the Vette against: NSX is a typical superb (zzzzz)Honda, the TVR is hideous beyond words unless you are Ray Charles and the 911, well...gr8 until it needs service. The "knock" on the Vette interior is overdone, IMO. My '05 Accord EX V6 coupe has a very nicely executed interior and the fit, feel and finish I would rate a bit above my '02 C5. However, compared to my C4s the C5 and C6 are vastly improved. The performance, ride and handling of my C5 are better than anything else I've owned but a distant second to an F55 equipped (which I've driven) C6. Merry Christmas! DFO

I thought it was funny as h*ll. Yeah, they made some ridiculous putdowns, but at least they weren't taking themselves seriously, like the morons in charge at Motor Trend magazine...

In all fairness... some other videos

These give the Corvette it's well-deserved "props"...

I can sure see how that'll p1ss people off. I didn't see the TVR chasing the Vette with it's "Vietnamese suspension" around that track though.... and a whole crowd to diss the car in front of? Like they're all going to go get their rides and meet me at the Nordschleife? I guess the cost containments are easy pot-shots, but yer not going to find any better standard production sports car for ~$45G's, that's all there is to it. Then we move on - will that clown show run a Z-06? And against what, an F-50 Ferrari? Will they laugh as they turn a 8min45sec lap at the Nordschleife ( done ~1-1/2 years ago )? Are they ready to admit the SIX ALMS championships and 5 out of the last 6 wins at LeMans by the C6R in front of all their pals? Boy, that sure is a wierd program....

Best wishes - GO VETTE!!!

See my post above about warm beer.

Yup, there's a reason why you can only get this show from YouTube and not from your tube...

Given that it's Top Gear, the car seemed to do quite well. I've no idea how it could lose to a 290hp NSX in a drag race though. I'd chalk that up to the driver. Or a car that isn't stock, who knows. In one set of videos they were comparing a non-legal Exige Cup car various American cars in search of competition. Of course they steered clear of the Z06, claiming it "wasn't fit for the street".

As all the UK cars fold, I wonder what they'll have to resort to doing? TVR has already closed shop in the UK. Lotus is owned by an Indonesian company. There aren't any bright British car stars anymore.

7:44 - Thanks for the correction. I might have been too benevolent ; }

I actually thought this was kind of funny.

I know where the Vette stands, and it definately was not well driven in any of those tests, or so it looks to me. A C5 z06 could do better in the hands of a good driver than that C6 with those tools behind the wheel.
