thoughts on gulstrand rear suspension pieces

i bought the gulstrand rear suspension pieces a while back for my blk zr1 .but now am trying to decide if i should put them on the snat. anyone have them on their car or put them on a car. if so what adjustments did you make . also does anyone know of a excellent allignent shop on southern calif . thanx for any thought you could share

The very first thing I ever bought for my Corvette was a set of Guldstrand lowering pads (f) and long bolts (rr) and they did just what he said, they lowered the front and rear, nicely. :cool

He used to include in his catalog, alignment specs, which depended upon your situation. I may still have the catalog downstairs - in the archives :W

I am not sure if you are close to his shop (like within 2 or 3 hours), but why not take it to him?? He is a nice fella and his shop is still around.

Here is a bit of trivia... Next door to Guldstrand's location in Culver City, was a shop called TRACO. The legendary engine shop turned out some impressive motors over the years, and its owner, Jim Jones, later went on (in recent times) to build many of the engines for Callaway Cars. Last I read, he was working on a Twin Turbo for the new LS series engines

thanx i never thought of him doing allignments . i have been to his shop a couple of times . your right he is one of the nicest people i have met .even asked e to sit and have lunch with him and his crew one day when i just walked in . do you think it would hurt the value of the snat if i put them on her they sure are quality pieces

I remember one set of alignment specs I used of his for my Trans Am, rode so nicely in the corners

A bit hard on tires though, it handled like a dream!!! If he cannot do the alignment, at least ask him for some specs

Regarding values, I will give my 2c here, and I am sure others will add theirs...

The parts will not help values in any way, IMO. That said, they should not hurt the value eaither, as:
1. you can easily return the car to stock specs.
2. they are quality parts/components.
3. you can easily return the car to stock specs.

Cypress Gardens NCRS meets, wow - that brings back a memory :eek I think it was winter of 1987 that I was last there :cool


I heard the park has now re-opened, but the NCRS meet is now held in Old Town Kissimmee

thank you for the thoughts on the mods. i just wanted to respect the car for what callaway had done , there wont be any more built , i want to take care of this fine ride. i plan on keeping her for a long while so resale isnt an issue . but the thought i guess to keep in mind when considering a modd is can it be returned to stk .
