No...

You need EGR in the current set up. EGR does nothing to power. IT DOES prevent the engine from self destructing when combustion temps reach the melting point. Remember the aluminum pistons and heads....it gets HOT inside there and EGR is what cools it down without backing out of the power. IF the EGR were stuck open it would stumble and sputter more...like a lean condition. Get the vac tester and a mirror and test the EGR to see if it moves when a mild vac is applied...

Looked at the booster vac tube? big vac lines for the evap and pcv stuff?

the answer is there ....it just has'nt been found yet, but its there.

Look at the coolant sensor and test by FSM charts....I read AGAIN that the coolant sensors are FRAGILE and to handle them with care....or they fail and make bad things happen.

thank you. u made me think theTB is above coolant sensor mabe i hit it with some thing or something dumb happend??
putting headers and 3 inch tubes on tomorrow i will try to check all other stuf to!!

End of story

:mad got so mad at this car so i drove the car, bike, and my van to dealer and traded it all for a mustang
Just kidding got a 98 convertable had a professional put a super charger in and headers and holy shit this car is fast!:happyanim:

congrats rob on new arrival have fun and good luck!!!!

new ploblem put new 58mm bbk throttle body in and just like every thing else in life it does not work right could be my fault idont know
throttle body will not close all the way keeping it at a high idle throttle cable, cruise cables fine they are loose when stuck on high idle seems like engine sucking to much air. no code thrown looking for your thoughts please

Hi had same problem you have to put a light retun spring in.Drill hole on side throttle arm that's facing you when your standing facing throttle link arm connected throttle body. Then to your right bracket that holds accelerator tranny cable drill small hole that bracket connect a return spring like you see on a cabureator, it is important that the spring not be to strong and stiff just enough tenison to.pull back to close and don't touch idle screw preset if ya did back it out close the plate open it till touches and your golden.

OK, just saw this thread, new 52mm TBI from mid-America arriving next week along with 1.6 Comp Cams rocker arms. Will be professionally installed along with dyno electronic tune.

Is this 52mm TBI unit defective??????

Now I am worried .......................................................:eek:eek:eek
