This 1971 Corvette convertible dressed in beautiful War Bonnet Yellow paint is currently listed for sale by the original selling dealer with just a little over 17,000 miles and one owner under its belt.
According to our 1971 Corvette Production Numbers, this is one of 3,706 Corvettes built in 1971 with RPO 989 - War Bonnet Yellow.
It was originally sold new from Lyman-Slack Motors of Portland, Oregon, in July 1971 and remained with the first owner until 2015 when Lyman-Slack Motors bought it back. Since that time, the dealership put only 100 miles on it and is now offering it for sale on the Bring A Trailer auction website.
Powered by the 350/270HP L48 engine mated to a Muncie 4-speed transmission, it comes well equipped with the removable hardtop, black soft top, tilt-telescoping power steering, AM/FM push button radio, and black leather interior. All for a total MSRP of $6,299.
However, that definitely won't be the selling price today for this gem.
In 2014, the NCRS awarded the owner with an official Top Flight award at the NCRS Northwest 2014 Regional Meet.
According to the NCRS website: "To achieve this award, an owner must drive their Corvette the greatest distance to attend the National Convention and attain a NCRS Top Flight which requires a judging score of at least 94%, including mileage points, based on our original "as manufactured" standard."
Long story short: this beauty is all original and has the pedigree to prove it!
With 6 days to go and a current bid of $25,000 as of this writing, head on over to the Bring A Trailer website if you're looking for an unmolested C3 Corvette and cast your bid!
