I have posted before regarding problems I am having with my 96 LT1. Have replaced O2 sensors, optispark, cleaned ground connections, etc., but so far it still has my mechanic stumped with all these codes popping up. Of course, my SES light is permanently lit at this point. The last time he looked at it, got the following codes....P0135, P0141, P0153, P0154, P0155, P0161, P1153. I looked up these codes and they all apply to the oxygen sensors and insufficient activity. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing all these codes to pop up. Are there other sensors we should be looking at?

Maybe a dumb question, but after you have replaced the sensors did you disconnect the battery for a couple of minutes to reset the codes in the computer?

Well, the car was serviced by a corvette shop that only works on vettes. I will assume it was done, because usually the car will run with the light out a couple of times before it kicks on again.

Have you considered that your ECM is damaged? IF the Vette shop cleared the codes after the diagnostics were performed, the ignition switch needed to be OFF. If the shop disconnected your battery for 10 seconds or so and you're still getting codes, I'd say the ECM is the culprit. I've just gotten to the point where I don't trust anybody with my Vette--never assume has become a motto of mine---but have to bite the bullet and hand over the keys on a job I can't or am too chicken to do myself--but I'm learning.
Good luck!

Unfortunately, that has been replaced too. They figured that since it was throwing all those codes, the car should barely be running, and it was probably a bad computer. However, it is running fine, other than I think a bit more fuel being used. I made sure the gas cap was tight this last time I filled up and it does seem I have recaptured back a few mpg that was being lost since all this started happening. :confused

OBD II Codes

OBD II Codes must be cleared with a scanner. Disconnecting the battery won't do it.

The shop I took it to (Corvette Shop in Tampa) got the ECM, but had to take it to a chevy dealership to download/upload stuff. The light is on steady and I will probably be taking it in again next week. :ugh
