At times, not always; when I first start to accelerate from a stop I can hear a metalic, tin or sheetmetal like ringing sound. It sounds like something vibrating against the exhasut system or a piece of metal flasshing that is vibrating. When I get up past about 1500 to 1800 rpm it disappears and doesn't return unitl I stop the car and accelerate again from a stop. It sounds like it is coming from underneath the car on the drivers side. I have been under there with a flash light and I can't seem to see anything that might be doing this.

Any suggestions?

I would inspect the heat shield on the exhaust system cats.

i had a similiar noise, it turned out the tube from the emissions to the exhaust pipe was hitting the cat.

The sound you describe turned out to be a loose brick in my pre-cat. When you have the car up tap on the side of them with a hammer handle and see if they rattle.
If it breaks up it will plug up the main cat.
