Question: Tire Pressure Sensors

Does anyone know what year of tire pressure sensors will fit on a '95 LT1 Corvette? The right front one is damaged on my car, and I thought I read some place that there were about three years that would fit, i.e. '94-'96. I know you have to have the correct color for each wheel. Thanks.

You can find the part numbers for the C4 LTPWS in our knowledge base. To answer your question though, it looks like the '93 - '96 'Vettes all used the same sensors.

C4 tire pressure sensors (TPS) came in two "body colors", beige and black. They are held onto the wheel with a metal band that is counterweighted opposite the sensor. All the sensors need to be the same body color for the system to work because they use different frequencies. Beige color was for the 1993 to 1996 years and the black color was for the pre 1993 years (1989-1992). Each wheel has a different label color and part number. For the 1989 to 1992 series and the 1993-96 series, the label colors were the same, but the part numbers are different. For your 1995, you need the beige TPS. The part numbers and label colors are as follows for 1993-96. GM was kind enough to switch part numbers for the 1993 - 96 years; either part number will work. The newest part number is listed first, followed by the older part number.

Driver Front: Green Label; Part No. GM88959446
and GM10161856
Driver Rear: Yellow Label; Part No. GM88959444
and GM10161854
Passenger Front: Blue Label; Part No. GM8895445
and GM10161855
Passenger Rear: Orange Label; Part No. GM88959447
and GM1016857.

For your 1995 right front wheel, you need the blue label, beige body, part number GM8895944//GM10161855.

Don't fret the body color because if you get the correct part number and label color, you are set. BTW, the pre 1993 TPS units will NOT work on the 1993-96 models. If you find a TPS replacement on the used market, make sure you get the band that attaches the TPS to the wheel, or save and use your old one. Save the old one in any case.
