Hello:

The tire inflation decal for my 92 convertible is illegible. Can someone please post the proper tire inflation pressures for my car? Car is standard 1992 Convertible with stock size rims and tire.

Thanx,
Phil

It should say on the tire the recomended pressure. If you cant find it, then i'd run anywhere from 32-35, I run mine at 35.

For other than hard-core track use, tire pressures are somewhat subjective opinion and somewhat demonstrable fact.

On all three of my Vettes, one of which has Goodyear F1 GS-D3s and the other two with GY F1 Supercars, I run 28 psi cold for normal driving and 34 psi cold for aggressive driving. Also, for aggressive driving, I may vary pressure a little either way depending on the car's handling once the tires get hot.

Yes I will agree. I run mine around 35. However you cant go wrong with 32 either I guess. Somewhere in the ballpark. I am going to try putting 28 in mine like Hib said, and see if I can notice a difference under normal driving.

The tire pressure/load weight decal on my 92 vert says 30 psi (cold) for both front and rear.

I run my tires slightly higher than that (32 psi) for freeway use. That pressure still gives a smooth ride and I have not seen any indication of abnormal tire wear. Once the tires get hot from extended freeway driving, the pressure will increase by a few pounds, but the recommended cold pressures shown on the sticker take that into consideration.

I set mine to 32 cold for everyday driving. For more agressive driving, I bump up to 38 front and 36 rear.

I also have the Low Tire Pressure Warning System and it doesn't like 28 psi. That tends to set off the warning light. I guess one or more of my sensors is a little premature at giving a warning.
