tire sizes

Oh they'll fit alright, but will they turn? :L

Seriously, the 315s are a little wide but will fit, but you're gonna have to get rims with a miniumum of 10" in width, preferably 11", and take into consideration the offset/backspacing. ;)

think I'll stick to the stock tires, they look wide enough right now, I know the 315's will fit on the back without any spacer's/offset or whatever, they are the same height but just a bit wider, apparently these years of cars will take wider tires without any problems but I would like to see someone whose done it

275's front, 285's rear. Looks good without overkill...

I've seen 315 on the front of C4's. They will work but every one I've seen get a little rubbing at full lock steering - not enough to be any real concern. They were mounted on 11" wheels with the correct offset.

I have 315s on the rear and 275s on the front. I'll stick with this look.

I wouldn't put 315s on the front either. They look good on the back but in my opinion would look terrible on the front. Stick with the smaller tires on the front, unless you plan on making your vette front wheel drive.

I appreciate all the info from everyone about these tires, I'm getting new 275's on the rear Friday, I have 275's BF Goodrich on the front now and wanted to stick with the same brand tire all around but could only get Dunlop's in the 315 series, so that was the basis for my question about tire sizes, again I thank you all, this site kicks.................

Just a FYI, the 315's will work on the front using a GS offset 11" rim. Local ZR-1 owner is running 315 up front and 335 in the rears for a racing set up.

There is a guy in my area with an '88. He autocrosses with GS wheels and 315 Kumho Victoracers all around. He said they fit OK.

GS (Grand Sport) wheels - as opposed to ZR-1 wheels.

What this means is that the GS wheel has a different offset (50mm) vice 36mm for the ZR-1 wheel. On a late C4 (89-96) the GS wheel - or any 11" wheel with a 50mm offset - can be used without worry or need for fender flares.

On early C4's the ZR-1 11" wheel is the correct choice as the offset is correct for them without need for spacers.
