ARRRGHHHH....

I have been toying around with getting this greenwood wing and only the wing. I already have the greenwood hood louvers ready for the paint shop now I am thinking about this wing.

I am confused......

I've seen wings that don't look too bad but I prefer the cleaner look of wingless . But if you like it , do it ! Cliff :)

Thats the problem. I am not sure if I will like it once the shock of a cool wing on a car passes by. Plus it is a pretty big modification...cutting and mounting it.

It's certainly a big step in appearance; one that can be hard to live with if it wears thin on ya. ;)

Ken,

you are not helping any!!!

I keep thinking that if I get the wing, i'll have bowtye stickers, nascar emblems, and mobile one decals on the car next. Almost going rice....whats the american version of that...potatoes???

BLAH......I proabbly wont get the wing because it only looks good on the 91 and later body style C4.

wings belong on planes, not on cars!

As I sain in the title, Wings belong on planes, not on cars! I know they add extra down force, but most of us don't go near fast enough for it to be of consequence. Now if this car were being set up for an LSR attempt at Bonneville or Muroc, I might recant.

The car I bought came with a wing. I took it off and you can have it if you want it. I prefer the clean look. JMHO. Best of luck.

BTW, properly filling and fixing the holes before paint was a PITA so THINK before you ACT.

Best regards,
Gerry

No offense but why would anyone want a Vette looking like an I-rattle (aka IROC)? ;)

I do not think that wing looks like the older '80s IROC wings....maybe a little but not at all.

All in all, i'll proabbly pass on the iwing because I think it looks better on the '91 & up body and I am not going to update my body to the '91 & later look. I like the agressive '84 to '90 body look.

Thanks for everyones input.

And for the record, I like wings.

FYI Iroc's did not come with a wing per say the one you are thinking about. they came on 91-92 Z/28's.

i think wings can look good but i'd pass on this one. i do like the rest of the kit though.

personally i like hawaiin punch's wing on his :)

Quite the wing!

My 85 came with what looks a Motorsports wing and just sideskirting ( no front airdam or back skirt) Have had everyone that seen the car say it really sets it off nicely from other vettes. Which is nice to hear but I love the look and dont care what others think!
If you want it, get IT!!!!!

lets see a pic! :)

I have not seen a wing on a Vette that I have liked, but if you like it that's all that matter's. :w

Ditto! U asked, afterall.

I think this wing is a little on the over the top side. Greenwood has a smaller wing that looks very nice and natural on the vette.

I do not agree that wings=rice. IMHO, rice means nonfunctional looks-only useless modification of vehicles to make them look fast when they are clearly not. Typically tasteless in nature.

A Corvette is practically a street legal race car to begin with. And applying _functional_ race apparatus to it just isn't rice. It's rather natural to just push the car the rest of the way to wearing race numbers.

Greenwood kits are fully functional. And what I've heard from friends who have them is that they do make a difference in the car's handling even at moderate speeds. Which is to say... if you add the rear wing without also adding the front spoiler and other parts of the package, you're going to push the car toward more and more understeer as you go faster.

Anyway... remember that you're asking this question of a group of people that are often offended by cars with serial numbers that don't match... much less actual visual differences from stock.

It's your car. Do what you like with it. Either way you go, some folks will like it better, some folks will like it less.
