;help Hi Everybody I have a 79 L-48 with stock exhaust that needs to be replaced what would you suggest I do as this is my first Vette.
Should I just go back to what is Stock or should I go to a true Dual System would you use daul cats and is there a big advantage to Headers or would the stock manifolds do with a less restrictive system. Any Thoughts on this. :beer:w

I think headers and duals are the way to go too. If you don't need cats for emmisions or inspection, I'd ditch them too. A large part of restriction in the exhaust is the manifolds. There are a couple of them that have shown less, but for the most part they all are a BIG restriction- especially when compared to headers. I would suggest that if you do decide to go with headers that you get some that are coated- like Jet-Hot. NY uses salt on the roads and the coating will help protect them.

My vote is for headers.

Headers... go with the coated ones.. I wrapped mine with thermal stuff and when you consider the cost of materials and the tedious job of actually applying the stuff I wish I would have bought ceramic.

I went with Chrome (they look cool). :)
