I recently lowered my 84 without using wedges. I read that others here have done that. It gets it LOW...really low.
Now, though, I am wondering if wedges or the original rubber bushings are for more than just spacing. Are they to protect the transverse spring from contact with metal?? The original rubber bushings had gone bad and the metal bar inside was shifting around making an awful noise.
The Vette rides very well and quiet with no bushings. I just don't want the spring to fail at 75 mph.
Any thoughts??? I really am losing sleep worrying that I made a bad decision. I can take the spring out again. I have done it 2 times already. 3 times makes an expert I think.
