Even though he got the name right.............Zed-06.........his little puffery act about not be willing to drive it on the street, is just that.....an act. ;)

He'd love one in his driveway, even with the steering wheel on the wrong side. ;LOL

Good video and report otherwise though...
He is just a wus.
Probably drives a Benz. 4 door.

Yea I love the biases but notice he couldn't say a thing about hard numbers, they don't lie.

Yes he does. But its a 2 door SLK I think. Anyway I hated how he talked about how bad the ride was. I mean come on thats how High-speed cars are.

I like the show when I see it usually, although they are extremely biased against any cars "on this side of the big pond".

What I would be curious to find out about as far as their fastest lap test, is if the other cars that just barely beat it, were USA legal cars...I'm betting they're not and that the Z06 would jump up a couple of places on the list if they evened it out due to the added weight of the other cars slowing them down.

Says who? Seems to me that the Country where the car is built gets to determine whether it's "Zee" or "Zed." The Yanks have spoken. :D

As for his little puffery act, when he starts going on about the "flimsy" material, about the harsh ride, yada, yada, yada... I can't help myself: I end up yelling at the screen "at least the electrical system works, my Jaguar-loving limey friend!"

Yes, I know, I'm bad. ;)

But, Simon, surely the country called "England"......you know, your England.....decides how the letters in the English alphabet are said.

;LOL

Alrighty then... I'll just leave it to you to explain to everyone at the NCM and the Assembly Plant when we get to Bowling Green in a couple of weeks that it's "Zed-Oh-Six," not "Zee-Oh-Six." ;)

No, no, Simon. Your accent and demeanour would be so much better. :rotfl

67, the car is its own American Idol, so I see no reason not to call it "Zee-Oh-Six."

I'll just keep my accent and demeanor in reserve for the Cruisefest Idol competition. :D

Hold on I am very confused now. How do you say "Z06"? "Z-O-6" "Zed-O-6" or "Zee-O-6"? A young guy here is in need of some help

There was no doubt he liked the car and it did come higher up the leader board for lap time than a lot of "supercars", he said he couldn't see why the Ferarri was 100,000 pounds more. He didn't complain about the interior which a lot of testers do. He ended by saying that for daily use he would prefer the "C6". Jeremy must have rated the car as for him he was very complimentary!!!

Simon Says: When in Rome, do as the Romans do. Or in this case, when in Bowling Green, call it "Zee-Oh-Six".

Simon,

I've arranged for a recording to come on in your Baymont room, late at night.......

"Zed-Zero-6..........Zed-Zero-6..........Zed-Zero-6..........Zed-Zero-6" Come morning, you'll think you're back in merry ol' England. ;)

Merry Ole England, is it? Well, let's consider "Merry Ole England" for a moment:
- Beer served at room temperature. :puke
- Showers with no water pressure (and the hot water only lasts about 3 minutes) ;squint:
- England's major contribution to world cuisine: Fish & Chips. (It could be worse. England could have gotten the blame for Haggis.) :(
- Completely incomprehensible Cockney accents. Ever seen "The Full Monte?" :hb

So, any wonder why Simon chooses to reside on this side of The Pond?

"Zee-Oh-Six" it is, then.
:D

From Bonny Scotland: Just seen the alternative to top gear which is "Fifth Gear" on Channel 5, they roadtested what started out to be a "Zee- o-six" but called it a "Zed-o-six" by mistake at the end! Anyway Tiff Niddell (racing driver & presenter) raved about the car both on the road and on the track - he said :
This Vette is beginning to defy all those things I said was bad about American cars - first the brakes are not giving up after quite a few laps .... and there's the handling - right under my control ... and then there the sound of it... Aston Martin & Jaguar eat your heart out! Americans showing us how to do it! The Vette went round Nurburgring faster than the Pagani Zonda and at a fifth the price ...this has to be the best value supercar on sale today!

I dont know how to get the test to play back but here is the write up.

Tony,
I'm curious- is "Fifth Gear" a Scottish television production? Or is it shown all over the UK?
