I am so sold on the C6 after learning much more about it at the NCM last weekend! :)

The biggest disappointment was the new Precision Red replacing Torch Red.

A number of others echoed the same comments during the C5/6 Birthday Bash.

What about you? Which do you prefer?

I would have to see the colors side by side, but I think with the Precision Red being more of a red versus the orange effect you can get with Torch Red, I may prefer Precision Red. Just like the car, I will have to see it in person.

Torch red is my personal favorite.

Looks awesome ...

Saw the precision red at the NY AUTOSHOW and just assumed it was the florecent lightlng that made it look less than what I had expected..

Maybe the precision red is a more mature red? for a more mature audience?

I'm only 45 this year and wouldn't see myself driving precision red..

Toooo dark...and looked to much like drying blood..

JMO..for those who like it..

Enjoy! cause thats what its all about..

Finding what you like..

And yes I'm biased!

I've always loved Torch Red, but will have to see both side by side before I can really decide. :)

I am for torch red. It is the same or very close to my 69, which is monza red. I like the orange tint to it . I wolud order torch red, black interior and a white top. I like this combination better than any other.

Just the word "torch" makes it sounded like it belongs on a corvette.

After getting to see the new color of red last weekend I would say Torch Red has it beat.

:w Hopefully, GM will take note of the Corvette community's preference for Torch red, and release Torch before production begins.

Zippy :) :)

Although I am a C6 fan, Precision is near the bottom of my list of preferred colors.

I'm damned glad they discontinued Torch Red. I now have a car that will never have this wonderful color again most likely. I'll buy a C6 if they put the proof in the pudding. "I'm watching you, GM", LOL!

In Longtimer's posted pics, the C6 looks like a slightly larger Miata. I already own a Miata...great car. I prefer my Torch Red ZO6 to the C6. I will own a C6 after GM puts the proof in the pudding. GM is famous for incompetent new product introductions. Just the facts...I hope not.

I like Torch Red better.[/QUOTE]

I've always been sort of partial to white with tan interior, but the reds have been traditionally associated with fast cars. I'd have to see both the shades mentioned on real cars to make a decision. But based on what I've seen on the pictures here on the thread, the deeper colour does suit the vehicle, but wait a year or two, they will rotate the one out and bring back the other.

I can envision a dark green with a tan interior and top, and deep blue with a tan top.

My OL liked the Sunset Orange on the first picture, that I showed her and then suggested I do my 85 in a similar colour. Following the KISS principle, I'm going to stay with white.

It sure looks to me as though the TORCH has won this contest hands down. I sure hope G M revives it or better yet bring it back as the classic monza red. I hope that someone at G M takes note of these forums!

That's why I posted this...hopefuly, GM will see that the buyers/enthusiasts prefer TORCH RED, and offer it as a choice BEFORE dealers submit customer orders to the BG assy plant.

You guys are whining about Torch Red only because you're used to seeing it and you believe John Heinricy's famous sound bite (which, also, ended up the title of Jim Schefter's book) "All Corvettes are Red and the rest are mistakes."

In fact, if you really stand back and look at the C6 for a good long time, you'll find the Precision Red or "Cobalt Red" as the designers call it, is a more rich, contemporary red and it better highlights the car's lines.

Torch Red looks good on C4s and C5s because their exterior designs lack some of the lines, shapes and curved surfaces that the C6 has. Cobalt Red better shows-off the shapes, edges and curves.

As for the C6 looking like a Miata?
LOL
You guys must be smoking some good crack.

after sept precision red goes away and victory red become the corvette red. i have a precision red to be built the first week of aug and i hope that it is precision because the victory red is the color on the chevy PUs and i do not like it.

I have a feeling, we may not have seen the last of Torch Red all together...
