Torque specs for backing plates to a spindle

1966,and a 1962 thats almost complete
I am trying to help out a fellow member with a question,

He can not find the torque specs on the backing plates to a front spindle. I did my 66 a while ago and cant find any notes on it. I actually thought it was 25 to 30 but they had a tab to hold the bolt in place. Does anybody have this info Handy or know where I might find it. I temporarily misplaced my aim
 
There are three bolts - the lower two attach the steering arm and splash shield to the knuckle, and the one at the front also attaches the bottom of the caliper bracket; those two bolts are about 65 ft-lbs. The upper bolt attaches the upper end of the caliper bracket, and it's about 75-80 ft-lbs., and has frenchlock tabs for the bolt as part of the splash shield.

JohnZ, thanks for the torque info...I was only 5 lbs low on each of the values you listed...thanks for the info...is there a web link to list all the major torque values for the mid year and late 60's cars. I know some other C4-C5 forums have compiled specs as stickys so do they exist for the mid year cars on this forum. Thanks again...I can now move on with the rework this weekend.

The torque for the upper bolt is shown in the torque chart in the back "specifications" section of the Chassis Service Manual in the Front Suspension section; the same torque chart has a blank for the steering arm nuts, but 65 ft-lbs. is good for those bolt/nut sizes.

I checked on this once a while ago and found the (2) 1/2-20 were 75 ft/lbs and the upper 11/16 was 100-110ft/lbs? I don't recall where that came from but that's what I have in my records.

Gary, on a '63-'64 drum brake car, the upper one is the anchor pin bolt, and the same chart shows 130 ft-lbs. for that one; for '65-up disc brake cars, it's a different bolt, and shows 75 ft-lbs.

Thanks John, I must have got that from an early manual? Those records were from my 72's restoration log so that's what it ended up at without any problem.
Another tricky torque figure is the caliper 1/2 bolts. The 72 Helms states 130 ft/lbs and that it. The fronts are 130 but the rears are 60ft/lbs- that rear bolt did break at 100ft/lbs!!!!!

The same error is in the GM Chassis Service Manual - never got corrected, at least through '72 (latest one I have); penciled in that correction many years ago. :)

I have it pencilled in my 72 manual too!
