The vac system on the headlamps had been working fine (pop up fast, go down quick) for the short time that i have owned the car-until i rolled it out for a spin today-and only the left came up, barely. also the wiper system seems to be affected as well. any thoughts? fixes?

thanks in advance.

if you find anymore information about the headlight problem, post a reply. i just started having the same problem yesterday on my 1970.

I'm currently in the midst of trouble shooting the vacuum system on my '72. All 3 headlight relays were leaking pretty badly. Charles

There is a check valve/filter on the main vacumn line. Check it out.

There will be a fitting in the intake manifold directly behind the carb. A single hose runs from it (towards the driver's side) to an in line filter, and then to one side of the check valve. Two hoses are connected to the other side of the valve. To check to see if it is working, disconnect the hoses and put the side of the check valve with one tube up to your mouth. You should be able to suck air into your mouth through it, but not be able to blow air through it. (If I am remembering correctly!)
