TPMS question.

I had my tires replaced the other day. Now my right rear reads 38 hen it reads 35 on two different gauges.

I read in the owner's manual that if a sensor is replaced it has to be calibrated by a dealer.

If the rear rims were swapped would that cause the same kind of problem as if a new one was installed?

Think I need it calibrated?

YES, it will cause issue if not recalibrated. Also know that the sensors were changed to new edition if you will in '10 I think. They are NOT interchangable either.

OK, so lemme get this straight.

There is a possibility that when the tires were installed that the rear rims MIGHT have been swapped. And because of this it will need a calibration? No NEW sensors were installed.

What tires did you buy? And if you swapped the rims from one side to the other why not swap them back so the sensor is reading the right wheel. You might have to have the tire shop remount the tires if they are directional. Just a thought from an old c4 owner.

First thing to do is check the tire pressure in all 4 tires and see if one is actually reading 38 on your gauge.

Then re-train all the sensors so they know which location they are in.

Unlike C4 sensors which were location specific, the C5 and C6 sensors can be placed on any corner then the system needs to be 'trained' to know which sensor is where.

The tire shop should be able to do this for you and should have anyway after the tire swap just to make sure all the sensors are talking to the computer correctly.

John, I bought Michelin Pro Pilot Sports A+ ZPs.

I had the dealer do it for me. Didn't charge a thing.

I put the Michelin PS2 A/S ZPs on my '08 last year. I also used them on my old '03 and was pretty happy with them.
