Calling all auto tranny and Hypertech HPP experts:
I installed the Hypertech tuning today and amongst all the other changes such as power tuning, shift point increase and fan temps, I also installed the increased shift firmness setting.
After installing and driving the Vette and after it was fully warmed up, I noticed a noise I had not noticed before. It is a kind of tinny buzzing sound like a little tin heat shield that is lose on one end may make and it only occurs when the converter clutch engages or is engaged. I checked, its there in 3rd and fourth immediately after and when the converter clutch engages. It is also only audible under load and almost goes completely away when cruising at steady speed. As soon as I depress the gas a little, it comes back and goes completely away when the converter clutch disengages.
So I went home and took the shift firmness setting out. Now the buzzing is MUCH less but still there almost inaudible and only under significant load when the converter clutch is engaged.
I can't say that it wasn't there before, but it seems that the shift firm setting from the HPP has certainly made this noise more audible.
The tranny works just fine and there are no problems with shifting or performance, just this buzzing sound.
ANYONE HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS ??? OR ANY IDEA WHAT THIS COULD BE ??
Also, I have a LT4 KM.....does this affect the LT1 power tuning??
thanks for your help !!!
