Transistor Ignition

im trying to bring my car back to original state and i was wondering is there a way to tell from the original wires thats in the car if i had a transistor ignition setup...thanks

There will be a harness running down to the grill area where you should find the amplifier (approx. 5" x 4" black-box). On my '67 big block, it is located behind the grill just below and outboard of the driver's headlight bucket.

Was it an option in 67? It was standard on 65 425hp cars.

Not sure what you mean about an "option" in '67. Mark, but it was a mandatory option with some engines.

Sorry, I thought this was Heaven's question! LOL LOL

In 64 (552) cars had K66 transistor ignitions.

Engine Suffix = RT 365hp, RU 365hp A/C , and RX 375HP could be ordered with this option.

It was option k66, and was an extra $75.35 in 1964.
