Can this heat shield be installed without removing the transmission? Corvette Central shows this item #533566 is glued to the bell housing and transmission tunnel.

It takes about 30 secs to install. You just cram it between the bell housing and the frame. Its a little thicker then the space so it stays put. A little glue would be good insurance to keep it there. I have the transmision tunnel heat shield which if I remember right also keeps it from siding back. Without that I would try some glue.

I have had one in my garage for about a year now and was never quite sure where it went. I had forgotten completly about it. I may have to give it another go again next time I get out in the garage.

Thanks for reminding me.:_rock

I put it back on my 69 a few years ago. Shoved it up there and positioned it. No glue....still there, same place for the past 2 years. Chuck

I just pushed mine up between the tranny and the floorboards. It's been there for 2 years without any glue.
