I was just reregistering at the L81 registry and when filling in the color info I see a mistake. My trim tag is stamped 672 (cinnibar interior). My build sheet says 742 (dk red) which it is.
Anyone else find an error on their tag?

JU..... that's a pretty cool error and an interesting color issue. Being an owner of a Cinnabar (Cloth) car coded 672 is correct. Now when you look through most documents/books on the subject they mostly list that interior color as "Dark Red". Not a lot of data on this. I've begun to wonderf if only St. Louis cars actually had Cinnabar, and BG built '81's had "Dark Red". Perhaps Bud (rare81) has some data on this dilemma. Bud?

JU,

Being your car is a Bowling Green built ;) being two tone 80/98 there were 2 interior color options ... Dark Red 742 or Silver 132 (Silver 152 being St. Louis). BUT we have run across quite afew out of the norms.. I would tend to believe the build sheet as that is what followed the car down the line for assembly ;)

Also, what color is your dash pad? Red or Cinnabar?

Bud

John, my trim tag in fact says '741' The build sheet says 741 dk red int tr, 742 dk red leathe. I called to order new seats from Wilcox, and they sent me color chips to confirm its actual color. I was told there was red, dark red, cinnabar, and in my case 82 red. It was one of the last from BG, and apparently got parts from the 82 line. The tag also says 'B 10 A' and build sheet says '10-07' in box 10.
