I purchased my 1976 Vette about a year ago. I don't have much history on the car but somone had obviously started restoring it and then didn't quite finish. When they put the interior back it, they didn't connect a number of components and put 1 screw in each dash panel. I've have everything working now except for the seatbelt warning and the alarm.
None of the original factory wiring harness' have been cut into
What I've fixed:
Dash lights
Tach
clock
RR defogger
Front Speakers
Windshield Washer Motor
Hazard lights.
Need help with:
Seatbelt Warning: Got the car and the warning light would not go out. Always on. When I had the dash out, I noticed that the warning alarm was pulled out. Put a new one in and now I can hear the alarm. When I click the seatbelt the alarm stops, but the light stays on. Would that be the seatbelt relay causing that?
Alarm:
Get nothing from it! No sound, no flashing. Not sure if replacing the flasher and alarm relay would fix it. First, I'm trying to find out where the alarm gets its power from? There were a bunch of things (refer above) that just simply were not connected and worked fine once power was restored. Is there an easy way to see if the alarm system has power?
