True Dual Exhaust

Cat Converters were first used on Vettes starting with the '75 model year. So '74 and earlier Vettes do not have to deal with the cat issue.

tom...

'92-'95 Vipers had factory sidepipes with cats, and the new '03 has gone back to real sidepipes too; the Viper cats have always been smaller/shorter than normal ones, and have about 3X the noble metal loading of normal cats ($$$). They have a cat and a round muffler inside each sill panel, and on the new '03, the pipes from each side cross over under the car right after the muffler, are joined with an "H"-pipe at the center crossover, and each pipe comes out on the opposite side from where it started; that way you get the sound of all ten cylinders on each side instead of just the sound of five on each side like the '92-'95's had. :cool

So with Vettes from '74 and older, they don't have to pass any emission tests?

Thanks, everyone! :D
