Anyone heard if a TSB is coming for the lower front control arm/bushing issue? I know some Tech's are swapping out the smaller diameter rear bushing washer with the large diameter front bushing washer. While this helps minimize the control arm from gouging the subframe, the control arm is still sliding back off the bushing to the rearward position, which causes decreased caster settings, it also throws the front toe off.

I can't believe GM is just going to keep swapping out lower front control arms or in extreme cases that go unchecked, the front subframe too. My subframe has some major gouging showing and I know of many other C5/Z06's (mostly Z06's) with the same problem. I don't see the point in getting the arms swapped out if it's just going to do the same thing again in a couple of months, throwing off the alignment in the process. Seems to me that if a control arm can slide off it's bushing then a significant design flaw exists.

HI there,
Well, there are many questions that should be asked here.
Is the vehicle raced or autocrossed?????
How many miles are on the vehicle??????
There is no preliminary documents, or TSBs for a conditions, that in 90% of instances, is due to aggressive off road driving.
I have seen 1 instance of bushing deflection, on a street driven car, and that was, in my opinion, due to incorrect alignment specs, that were way too aggressive for the street.
Control arm gouging has only been prevalent on those vehicles which are raced frequently. This is why there are a number of aftermarket manufacturers that are installing polygraphite bushings, that do NOT deflect under racing conditions.
I would ask that you answer these questions, so we can accurately diagnose and help with your condition.

for technical reasons, was hoping for an OE-authorized fix to the problem, not looking for a freebie warranty repair or such

anyone who does hard braking will have the problem, it is not an alignment problem and it does happen on street-only Vettes, especially if they're driven by me :-)

I still say that any control arm sliding off the bushings due to hard braking is a fudged-up design. I can't believe that Risk Management wouldn't agree, hopefully it won't take people dying to resolve the problem.
