In the 63-67 a Turbo 400 was never a stock tranny correct?

But could one be fitted into a C-2 without to much hassel?

Mike

Still on the C-2 quest!

1. No, all automatics were Powerglide in that timeframe.

2. Why would you want to... wouldn't it be better to have an overdrive automatic? (Idon't know if a turbo 400 would fit )

For a few reasons

1) I have one
2) this roadster will be on a shoestring budget
3) Dont care about the 100% orig thing.
4) I'll be scraping the bottom of the barrel for parts and working from the frame up so I'm just curious what to watchout for.

power glide..you mean slip & slide!

Thanks
Mike

You will probably have transmission tunnel clearance problems. If you enlarge the tunnel you won't be able to buy moulded carpet that fits.

Turbo 400 will definetly not fit.Floor will need massaging. As well, there will be kick down implementation problems.Just a suggestion, but maybe you could trade the 400 for a 350.They almost fit perfectly. It was a long time ago,but I think that even the driveshaft fit.I remember that even the shift linkage worked. You ought to be able to find someone willing to do that trade even up.And,trust me,the 350 is a better transmisson for the job..............Bill S
