Hi,

Usually, if I have a problem I can find the answer with a search, but could not locate this exact problem.

On my 1975 the left turn signal works just fine, but the right one comes on and stays solid on both the front and rear, as well as, the dash indicator light.

Any help is always appreciated!

Mark

Check the bulbs in your front and rear directionals as that usually indicates one of them is out...however you may also want to make sure your grounds are clean as well!!!!

good luck bill:w

There isn't a division (right/left) within the flasher - flashers pretty much work or not.

Well, maybe but I have had flashers go bad and one side lights continuous and the other blinks so only going by past experience. I think it may depend on whether they are electronic (new replacement type) or mechanical (old OEM type). It is probably a light fliament or ground that is causing the problem but flashers are cheap and it would eliminate one aspect of the problem for sure.

Thanks for the ideas!

pws69 - I do not know what you mean by "marker light." Would you please elaborate?

Tomorrow I will see what I can find out and let you know.

I believe he's referring to what are sometimes called running lights or side lights. They are sort of like parking lights on the sides of the quarter panels.

And the winner is.....Bad Flasher!

The poor guy at the auto parts store seemed disappointed all I bought was a $1.88 part! :L

Usually I hit the place at least once or twice every weekend for $20 or more.

Thanks again for the suggestions.

Sorry, "Side Marker Light" - they are on the side of the fenders (4) - they go on with the flashers and if one burns out, directionals act as you have described.

Now that you have fixed it, do the side marker lights all work?

Hi pws69,

Yes, the side marker lights still work fine. They were working before replacing the module too. I checked all the suggestions beforing deciding to replace the flasher.

I also checked the hazard lights and parking light settings. All of those still work fine.

Have not worked up the nerve to bring the headlights up. They were real slow when I was driving the car many years ago before I had to park it after moving. But now that I have a garage to work on it, it is my main project for the next year or two.

I got the engine running a couple of weeks ago for the first time in years and have actually driven it 30 miles in the past two weeks (working on it on Sundays mostly).

Heck, I even got the infamous spark plug wires changed AND routed correctly thru the engine mounts!:D

As I hit problems it is really great to have friends to turn to for advice.

Thanks

Mark
