How do I remove the following lever assembly from the windshield wiper control/headlight dimmer switch/signal arm pivot assembly switch.

It attaches to this device:

I tried looking throught this guide on autozone, however it doesn't help.
"remove the turn signal lever by pulling toward the driver door."
Not such a good idea!

Remove turn signal stalk

Yep, that's the way it's done.
Just grab it and pull it out. Now threading the new wire down the steering column is another thing. Unless you tie a string to the old connector and use the string to pull the new connector down the column.

Alright so I pulled it with everything I had and it came out and didn't break. Wow I need to go to the gym, my arms hurt now.

In order to remove the wire down the steering column you will have to remove the kick panel and the metal panel under it/ Then remove the four bolts that hold the column under the dash. Now you will see on the top of the column where the wires run through a holder you will have to push the piece on top back towards the front to loosen the wires. On the old wire fasten a picture cable to follow the wire up the column. If you are going to replace both the lever and turn signal wiper switch you may find it easier to seperate the four cruise wires from the others and pull them seperately. I would suggest you pull the wires a little at a time and check them for places where they have rubbed through the insulation. You do not say why you are replacing all these items but you may only have to repair the wires and everything will go back to working.

I am sorry my pictures are so small but you can get the idea of what I am saying.

In the first picture you can see a new use for a jack stand that made the job a lot easier good luck and keep us posted on how it goes.:beer
