Hello ...

I'm a first time poster in search of some help with a turn signal problem I'm having on my 2004 coupe. The front passenger side DRL/turn signal light stopped working a few weeks back after I drove through a puddle. I figured it was the bulb, so today I replaced it ... what a pain that is. After replacing the bulb, the signal still doesn't work; the front DRL/signal light doesn't light up, and the right signal still flashes rapidly.

Could this be a fuse problem? If not, any ideas?

In looking at the manual, I found that there is a relay for the DRLs. So, I went to Auto Zone and picked up a replacement relay, but the replacement hasn't fixed the problem.

I'm afraid of how much this may cost if I have to take it to the shop .. :ugh

It's not a fuse!! It's a Bulb,Socket or Ground problem!!

Try to find the 3 possible problems junk has listed first before you take your car to the dealer. I know I would. :w

I usually look for any codes before taking things apart. Learned that the hard way. Ground problem would affect other things and should show up on the codes. If a splash shorted out the circuit temporally it could have also burned out the rear blinker. Good luck with diagnose and let us know what you find.

Is there a tutorial somewhere on how to check codes?

Thanks ...

HI there,
You must understand, the fast flashing indicates that the system doesnt have the LOAD to slow down the flashing.
So, with that in mind, double check the socket to make sure you have CONTACT to the bulb.

Mine did the same thing. I replaced the bulb to no avail. It would work when I plugged the light in the socket and tested it, then I would plug the socket back into the housing and no light. Turned out to be a loose wire in the socket. There are two (or three) wires running into the back of the plug. I dropped hot solder into each hole to sure up the connection between the wire and the metal contacts and it worked like a charm. If you do this, do each wire one at a time and angle the socket so that the solder won't run around inside the socket or you will have wires soldered together that shouldn't be.

Good luck!
