Anyone know what the correct torque is for the u-joint straps at the rear diff/driveshaft? Thanks for any help.

It's probably the same, but my '87 shows 26 ft-lbs (35 N-m) for the driveshaft u-joints.

12-15 ft-lbs. on the prop shaft U-bolt nuts, 14-18 on the half-shaft U-bolt nuts. 25 or more will probably strip them.

Thanks for the information. I just tightened up as tight as I could with a 3/8 ratchet. I guess I need to get back out there and set them with my torque wrench. Will too tight cause problems?

The steel caps with bolts used on the BB inboard half-shaft U-joints were a different animal - those bolts were 50-70 ft-lbs.
