Here is the new ad description - owner has dropped his price by 10 grand:eek
Car I understand was used as the vehicle to fab "BE COOL" brand radiators for the B2K's.
Here are the details from the ad... :beer

Nope - Last I heard that one is still in the Carolina's :beer

FWIW, One of the 7 Callaway B2K 35th anniv cars was destroyed in an accident.
One was for sale last yr in Cali. (w/ silver Dy's on it instead of white ones as it should have)
One is Owned by a big collector in Illinois - w/ only a couple hundred miles on the clock.
That said, there are two left out there - unknown status...
Super Rare cars indeed - 3 Automatics, 4 Manuals. :beer

That in my opinion is a great deal if the car has a clean history and is in mint conditon.

The first 88 Callaway in this post is VERY bent. It is a B2K 35th anniversary car, one of a few produced. It showed signs of a major accident that was not repaired properly when I inspected it. The person representing the owner admitted the vehicle was in a frontal collision. I think it would be a great Callaway to own if it was restored and all damage properly repaired. It is possible they have repaired it.
The second 88 Callaway is not an anniversary car, but it looks great and by the description has been maintained very well- I think I might bid LOL. The ground effects package on both vechicles was a dealer installed GM approved package. I believe it was called "GTO Ground Effects". The non-anniversary car pictured does not have the gill panels installed- I think it looks better.
I hope everyone is enjoying their time on the RIGHT side of the real estate. Take care. -Joe

Joe, I about fell over when you offered 18k for the car at Carlisle - it is definately , a car that would need to be checked out but a presentable car for sure.
One of the most highly optioned Callaways made :)
Joe, you need that car:upthumbs

I don't think I would pay close to 30 large for it, but I would like to have it. They have my number when they are ready. I'm in the middle of some work on my 87TT. I'm replacing all the coolant lines to the turbo's. I sent the two most critical line's to Callaway Cars for reproduction and the other two I'm doing myself. The critical hose's are the two that you have to remove the drivers turbo to get to. I got all the original style Earl's fittings and stainless steel braided hose from Summit Racing Equipment SummitRacing I'm also installing some PF 01 pads and a DRM bias spring. Stopping is VERY important with these bad boyz. CUL8R -Joe

This is also an '88 and looks almost identical down to the white Dymags and ground effects.

Kevin, that one is up to 21k and has a few hours left on it (res. not met yet)

Paint looks decent in the << B I G >> pics - body looks straight.
I noticed that a fellow CAC Callaway owner has placed an early bid:m

Chris, in the picture you posted of the targa-top Callaway for sale, do you have any idea where a set of the "4-gilled" side panels can be found??

Jay

Jay, those were part of the GM "over the counter" GTO Body kit offered in the late 80's
Although I thought they were in the Mid America catalog or Ecklers a few years ago, they don't show in the current issues :(
Does look aggresive, don't they :D

Chris, I think they look awesome. I remember a long time ago Ecklers carried them. But not anymore.......Keep an eyeball open for me if you happen to see them anywhere. I've been looking for them for a long time.

Hopefully it'll sell to someone that's mechanically inclined if it's been repaired to the extent that we're discussing. With body panels being mis-aligned-- the quality of the actual body work repair should be painfully obvious. What I'm suggesting is that if the shop that repaired the front end was careless in the re-assembly of the car-- then more than likely they also issed some other workmanship details. Like, look for overspray within the wheel wells and suspension. Also, the inside the of the hood near the headlight motors. If it's got those anomalies, my opinion is that the price should be seriously negotiable.
