What are the best waxes, cleaners etc to have a clean looking polish to the black hood inter liner, as well as the fender liners. For a great look at a show??
Thanks

Check the CAC Archives for the answers to your question--trust me, they're there. But for wheel well liners, some tire shine'll do just fine. Meticulous engine detailing will just take some time, rags, ear swabs, little brushes, etc. And I know you didn't mention it, but NO high pressure washing or hosing of any kind unless you want to replace the Opti-Spark. Just grin alot.

I was fooling around under my hood today, and pretty much have decided I'm going to have to remove it to clean it to my satisfaction. :L

I like the semi-flat look of the factory underhood paint. I used a 50-50 mix of Simple Green and water and cleaned the underside of the hood. I then applied some 303 Aerospace Protectant with a clean cloth and buffed it. This stuff works much better than things like the usual tire protectants like Armor-All or such. It's fairly expensive ($12 for a 32oz spray bottle at boat shops) but it doesn't take much to do the hood.

I removed all of the fenderwell pieces including the upper ones that attach to the hood and cleaned them, sanded with 220-grit wet paper and used Krylon black primer and finished with 3 coats of Krylon Semi-Flat enamel. That paint looks very close to the OEM black paint.

whoda thunk it......;LOL

mine had not been cleaned since it was created in 1996.
Last fall I went out with STP Foaming tire cleaner.
Sprayed a 2 foot section at a time of the underside of the hood.
As the foam liquifies, it will run. Keep lots of rags handy to catch it.
Hardly any elbow grease needed and people still ask me if I had the hood re painted.

Griot's makes a wheel well cleaner spray that I tried once and was very pleased with too.

i LIKE THAT IDEA, WILL START TOMMOROW. gET READY FOR THE NEXT SHOW.
