1981 charcoal grey coupe auto
Hi all,

I just recently bought an 81 vette from my aunt who now lives in florida and recently decided to finally sell it to me after my years of insisting lol. Anyway I just got some pics snapped after I had the vette delivered. Thought you guys might enjoy seeing another living breathing 81! Anyways you'll have to disregard the pics these were before I got a chance to do any real cleaning up (it's been sitting in a barn for around 6 years now with random start-ups to keep it running :bash). I'll update with nicer pics after winter. Yes it needs lots of work but it does run and i'll start fixing things as soon as I can figure out how to stop devoting my bank account to college and spend some money on it lol.

Hope you enjoy
P.S. Ya that's my mom in the pic...oops.

Your '81 looks pretty darn good for sitting all those years :upthumbs

If you do most the maintenance and repairs you will really learn to appreicate just how great these cars are ;)

I have a 1981 Charcoal with Silver Leather interior, I don't recall seeing a Charcoal Grey with Red interior. Most came with Black or Silver, (The Charcoal Grey exterior ones) Very nice :upthumbs

Just incase you haven't noticed. There is a 1981 Corvette Forums as part of the C3 Forums, and there is a whole website dedicated to the 1981, here is the link to the L81VetteRegistry where you can register your 1981 and get it documented in the Data Base... like here it's all FREE :)

Congrats!

I don't care too much for red CARS, but I have always liked vettes any color with red interiors! Looks good:)

Color

I'm in the process of getting the numbers for this car but i'm sure that everything is original, engine, trans, wheels ,paint but the interior has been re-done. The exact exterior paint color is a guess right now but I'll find out if red was the original interior color. This car has been in the family since day one when my aunt bought it and she's the only owner since then so my future plans will be to do a complete restore.

Quick check ;)

Driver door frame on the front of the door frame/fender about dash hieght is an aluminum tag rivited on the door frame. It is about 3"x2" or so and has the code for the exterior paint and the interior options (color/leather) and a little more information too.

The check it out here in the tech center or at the L81VetteRegistry drop down menu for colors in the registration form... Or post them here ;)

I like the charcoal and red combination. Very nice.

There will be time enough to fix her up.... just get through college first! I know, I know, I sound like a dad... I give the same advice to my son all the time! He is his second year of college. :D

Congratulations! It looks pretty good so hopefully you won't have to do much.

Congrats on (finally!) getting the car! :upthumbs

Keep in mind that CruiseFest 2008 is taking place just 2 hours north of you at the end of June! Plan on being there! You'll have a blast!!!!
(And you'll get to meet the grand poobah of the L81 Registry!...and likely some crazy cats coming in from California. :cool)

Sweet looking '81!!!!!
well cared for!!!:upthumbs:upthumbs

Nice looking ride. Looking forward to seeing more pics of the new ride.
