V1 hard wire

I just got my valentine 1 radar detector and want to direct wire the power to it. Where have other C5 owners tapped into the power?

Mine is set up into ash tray area with the door covering the whole readout so that it is very stealth!!! I think it must be tapped into the lighter power.

Do you have any pictures of this? I guess I would have thought there wouldn't be enough room here; I assume you had to remove the ash tray; is that all?

Thanks, I got power for mine under the tow board fuse box area but I have never really liked the bracket that I had to modify to fit above the trim just below the window. I use a "Silver Bullit" is anyone familure with these, are they any good? It goes off all the time but not sure yet if it is accurate. I bought it because it also had a compass and I know that part works good.
