Can anyone help me whith a vacuum diagram on a 1989 callaway
I seem to be having a overboost problem and have checked the wastegates (they are not stuck) Would anyone have a small diagram on setting the micro feuler?
Car has
Callaway aero kit
Coil over springs
No o2 sensors /no cats /Leaded prom
Brembo Brakes /Drilled Discs

WELCOME!!!

Welcom to the CAC Callaway Forum, Although I do not have a diagram on this, I don't think there were too many "alterations" to the vac. sys. The microfueler under the dash had given someone a problem I though before, here on the forum... Check the archives for overboost or, I am sure they will chime in shortly w/ their welcome.

What color combo is your car and are you able to take advantage of its capabilities down there? :beer *89x2*

Welcome Adrian

I have a diagram for adjusting the microfueler that I can email you. It's not something to take lightly as setting it wrong could seriously screw up your car if it leans out too much.

The microfueler also has no effect on boost. It does nothing more than control the time and rate at which the secondary injectors in the rams horn fire. It uses RPM and MAP to do this.

I also have a brief write-up on adjusting the waste gates if you'd like it. Send me an email at hdthunder@aol.com.

Check your wastegate with a vacuum gauge and see if it will hold vacuum. If not, it's gone. I had an overboost problem and my mechanic pinpointed it in 10 minutes with the guage. Also, you don't want to manually adjust the microfueler unless you are on a dyno and are monitoring your A/F ratio from a sensor before the cat. You could go lean verrrry quickly and blow something up. Good luck.

Re replies on overboost

Thank you for your input i Tend to think i hav a diaphragm gone on a wastegate , I will check it to morrow .
I still suspect i have a vacuum pipe off somewhere >

My colour combo is Red whith black leather ,black hood and hardtop.
I have a name embossed on the back of the car HRD DYNO TUNING has any one heard of it (embossed on the composite right rear) .

I HAVE A 88 TWIN TURBO CALLAWAY THAT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM IT TURNED TO BE THE VACUUM LINE THAT RUNS FROM BACK OF THE PLENUM TO THE WASTE GATE IT WAS PLUGGED. I UNHOOKED THE LINE FROM THE BOOTH WASTE GATES AND CLEANED IT OUT WITH COMPRESSED AIR. IT HAS WORKED FINE SINCE THEN.

Welcome to the forum firemanast861. Im originally from Fayetteville AR, Im guessing you bought that car from the older guy who also had an 87, correct?

Anyway Im another guy with an overboost problem...Im showing 59Hgs on full throttle in 4th gear. Trying to figure this out.
