I am planning on using a 8746 ecm in my car (I think 8746 is the ecm but from a 89-92 f-body with 305 TBI) At any rate this ecm has VATS and I'de like to retain it since it doesn't look overly hard to integrate it into my factory wiring. However the question is will the VATS tumbler fit my 82 column? I have heard it is slightly larger in diameter can anyone who may have done this chime in?

before the VATS flaming starts lets not ...... I have a vats equipped car and love it. Yes I change the tumbler assembly and key every year since it's a daily car. at 11 years old it has never once given me any trouble.

I believe the only issues with vats is owner maintenence related.

Let me know how it works out... sounds like an interesting idea.
