vert with water under trunk

When I wash my 2000 vert with a normal stream garden hose water will collect in the recessed area around/under the trunk lid. No water gets into the trunk area itself it is all dry there.

I have to blot it all up with a towels. Is this normal? What is the solution?

Mine has a little after it takes a bath/shower also...

...there are 2 drainage areas on the rear corners, unless these are blocked I'd say everything is normal. ​
