Good Luck with restoring the Vette. The C4s are killer cars and I love their looks. So do many other people. In fact, I was out in my car on Christmas Eve and while backing out of a parking space, a 50ish woman commented: "That's what I want for Christmas." I also have to agree with some of the other posts that have commented on the beauty of Black Rose Metallic cars. I had a '93 that color and it was GORGEOUS!. Save the wave and post some pics when you get em.

Purple 84 crossfire

Sorry about the . I thought it was really purple like the one for the Mustang. But the Black Rose is out of sight. Keep it up and enjoy.

I'm sorry, but as I stated in another post, those Crossfires are garbage. If you are so concerned with performance, and what your friends think, you'd best warm up for some serious criticism because that is by no means a car that will outperform your peeps in their Hondas... Sell it, and buy an old Iroc, or a 2nd gen T/A or something... You can get a nice one for the amount you paid for your Vette.

Hey 84crossfire!

I am in the same boat as you. I am also 20 years and have recently purchased an 84 Corvette in need of some work. Mine has an overstock 350 with Edelbrock heads, cam, carb,intake, air cleaner so its plenty fast. I am just trying to get it looking good. I would offer you some advice but I'm still pretty new at this. Good luck!!!

:L a honda cannot beat a vette, and the crossfire isnt a bad engine dude, a 84 can blow away any honda, unless it is mega pimped out to where it would cost like 30-40k

Hey Mike ....

How's the fishing town of Ucluelet doing??? I have spent many a holiday at the Canadian Princess Fishing Lodge!!!
Hope to maybe take a run up there this summer. I hear the highway from the East Coast of the Island to the West Coast is to die for!!!

Like everyone else says ... keep the car and fix er up one thing at a time. The 84 like all other Corvettes ... they are all CLASSICS!!!

And, just ignore your ignorant buds. They are all jealous!!! Not every 20 year old kid can be lucky enough to own a legend!!!

Might see ya on the road one day and remember to SAVE THE WAVE!!!!

I have an '84 black coupe.....crossfire all the way....no problems with mine.....just kept up maintance....87K miles.......other than many, many mod's...no problems...
Just love this vette....

Here's my .02

The 84 is a great entry level Vette.. If the car has been abused.. it will be finicky.

There are ZILLIONS of posts here about the 84.. simply cause alot of us have owned em.. and I do not recall any 84 owner who has taken his ride & torched it.... ( although some have gotten close at the time of posting.. but we talked em down).My 84 is still on the road ( saw it last week ) and I sold it with 136K on the clock at the time.

It is a poorly understood Vette since it really only lasted 2 (ish years).. the 82 with X fire and the 84... there was no 83.

There's lots of things I didn't like about my 84.. but it NEVER let me down.. and it TRULY was a beater ( and I put 5 K additional into it..nickle & dime)

It's a tight ride... not the best power in the world ( Base 205hp) and MAYBE you can squeek 230 outa it with some tricks.

But that's it..it's a cruiser & a chick magnet.. deal with that and you got no problems.

If you want a 400hp @ the rear wheels.. do not buy this car, and do not think MODS will get you there..( cept a bottle of nitrous..but expect a new engine bill soon). If you going to do HEAVY MOD's... fix the 84 up & sell it...make a few bucks.. take the knowledge you have garnered.. and get an 86... and build that up as FAT as ya want! Just ask KEN.. with his 87.
