  • As the main objective of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is achieving an unparalleled performance-to-price ratio, Cars.com reviewer Joe Bruzek says buyers' option selections become critical. That $52,000 starting price can quickly balloon to $70,000 if you're not judicious about your bells and whistles, potentially defeating this budget supercar's purpose. Likewise, you'll also want to keep pragmatism in mind during model selection, Bruzek warns, noting that he soon tired of the Z51's track-ready ride and longed for the base model's cruising comfort. Watch the video above for Bruzek's tips on making wise choices with this model.

This is a good profile for someone like me! We purchased our C7 to cruise backroads in a sports car with panache, performance, and killer appearance without a bone jarring ride. We did not want to be constantly shifting gears in traffic, therefore, we wanted an automatic with performance and so far this car has been just that. You can still do an impressive burnout if you want. You don't have to do one, but knowing you can is important. We like the 3LT interior for its comfort and appearance. It is the stereotypical old man's Corvette for us, a great highway cruiser, sort of reminiscent of the old Route 66 show geriatric version. For a little less money we found a car that performs better than the MB SLK 55 AMG, has a more dramatic look and eye appeal, and a comparable ride. Unfortunately, to-date we have not driven it much due to the lousy winter weather, however, we are planning some spring backroads tours to start the season, including the Tail of the Dragon.
